Does it work? Here is some feedback!
Whitehill Junior School
Claudia Winter has run Story Detectives in our school for over 2 years. She has planned and delivered a range of bespoke story sessions for pupils in Years 3-5. She specialises in drawing out inferential skills. Readers in her groups show an increased enthusiasm for reading as well as making progress with their skills. Her gentle and engaging manner mean that children naturally warm to Claudia. We are delighted with her work and are very happy to recommend her to other schools.
I am very happy for other schools to call me for further information.

The children have really enjoyed your sessions and we have loved having you in school. Thank you for helping so many of our children - you have made a real difference to their enjoyment of reading.
I would not hesitate to recommend you to other schools.

100% of the children taking part in Story Detectives made good or more progress (1 step / 1 step+) in the Spring Term, with a third of the children making outstanding progress (2 steps).
Two-thirds of the children mentioned that they now read differently, using expression and looking for clues as they went.
They all said that if given the chance they would love to do it again!
The Year 4s said it was brilliant!
